In downtown Crystal Springs, Mississippi, a local community organization and downtown revitalization group hosted the outdoor music event Taste of the Blues.
The event was held along a downtown street block, where the available space for the stage, audience and surrounding activity was more limited than at an open event site.
The ST315 Mobile Stage Trailer was used for the event. The stage setup focused on live performance, sound and lighting, without an LED screen.
Street events have different site conditions from festivals held in open fields or large event grounds.
In Crystal Springs, the ST315 had to fit within an existing downtown street environment while leaving space around the stage for the event itself.
With a fully opened stage size of 7.8 × 6.3 m, the ST315 provides a medium-size performance area while keeping the overall trailer size suitable for city and regional events.
For this project, the stage supported the main performance area together with the lighting and audio used for the event.
For a mobile stage used in a downtown area, positioning the trailer correctly before deployment is important. The stage needs enough room to open without creating unnecessary adjustments after setup has started.
The ST315 uses a hydraulic deployment system controlled by wireless remote and push-button controls. Once the trailer is positioned and the surrounding area is clear, the main stage structure can be opened using the hydraulic system.
According to the standard ST315 specifications, the stage is designed for operation by 1–2 people, with a typical setup time of about 35 minutes under suitable site conditions.
This is a reference for the ST315 itself rather than a recorded setup time for the Crystal Springs event. Actual deployment time can vary with the site, crew and event preparation.
The Crystal Springs project also shows why a medium-size mobile stage can work well for community and downtown events.
The ST315 provides enough stage space for live performers and event equipment without requiring the footprint of a large semi-trailer stage. Its trailer-based structure also allows the stage to be moved between event locations when required.
For organizers working with city cultural events, community programs, local festivals or regional performances, stage size is only one part of the decision. Vehicle access, available setup space and the type of performance should also be considered before selecting a mobile stage.
