In San Antonio, Texas, USA, the public space operator The Rock regularly hosts outdoor community concerts and public festival events. The venue stays in the same plaza, but the event format changes often. One day it may be a live band performance. The next day it may be a festival market.
For the operator, the stage solution needed to follow the same setup workflow every time, with a controllable on-site schedule.
This project used the ST315 Mobile Stage Trailer. Since the venue is used for regular public events, the configuration focused more on stability and consistent execution.
The project did not include an LED screen. The lighting setup used a combination of standard performance lighting and event lighting, suitable for both music performances and festival scenes.
The sound system used a medium-scale outdoor PA setup to cover the plaza audience area.
Power was mainly supplied by the venue. During events, temporary power distribution was added to meet the on-site operating needs.
The Challenge of a Fixed Plaza Is Not Setup Speed
The advantage of a fixed plaza is that the site does not change. The real challenge is long-term repeated operation.
After arrival, the crew aligned the trailer with the preset position and completed deployment by hydraulic remote control. After the structural locking points were checked, the team moved forward with lighting, audio, and power setup. Before the event started, they completed the power-on check and basic system testing.
The more consistent the workflow, the fewer temporary adjustments are needed. This helps the team maintain a stable pace during regular event operation.
In this type of site, deployment can usually be completed by 1–2 operators, with the full stage opening process taking about 35 minutes.
Making Deployment More Stable: Checklist + Fixed Placement
When event formats change frequently, time is often lost in finding tools and reorganizing equipment.
The site team created a checklist for commonly used tools and equipment, and kept them in fixed positions with the trailer. Who takes what, and where each item is placed, no longer needs to be discussed again on site.
Position Reset: Keeping Every Setup on the Same Workflow
For a fixed plaza, frequent position changes create more problems than speed itself.
The crew marked the parking point, deployment direction, power distribution position, and cable route. At the next event, the team first reset the trailer and equipment according to these markings. Then they checked the locking points and completed the power-on inspection.
This reduces on-site discussion and avoids time loss caused by repeated repositioning.
Power Supply and Cable Routing
For a fixed plaza, the key is consistency.
The project mainly used venue power, with temporary power distribution added according to each event’s requirements. To reduce repeated adjustment, the site team kept the distribution point and cable routes as fixed as possible. Circuit labels and location markings were also clearly recorded.
At the next event, the crew did not need to plan the cable route again. They only needed to reset the layout according to the existing route and complete the inspection.
This helps keep more time focused on the event itself, rather than repeating cable routing work before every activity.
